My twin sister and I have been planning a combined graduation party over the past few months for my daughter and nephew. After shopping, cleaning, preparing and decorating, we pulled off a successful sending-off party for a couple of loved ones.
The weather was perfect on Graduation Party Day. The facility we rented was on a lake, so the kids were able to wander in and out; grab some food and drink and meander on the deck.

We wanted to have food that allowed us to mingle; crockpots were our friend. Also, a sweet friend offered to refill and restock all the food and beverages and can I say THAT WAS THE BEST IDEA EVER!! She's a smart one; we were so busy planning what to eat, we did not consider what would happen as people began to devour the nibbles. Diane, you were a lifesaver, and we love you bunches!!
This was my daughter's table. Some of the items we included on it were: a vintage suitcase to hold cards or small gifts, a frame memo board with photos of the grads, art samples, diploma, a few Senior awards, extra grad pictures guests could take, a notebook for prayers or words of encouragement, a senior photo, a book runner and her college notification letter and sticker. We decorated with a handmade bunting and paper pinwheels.
My sis and I realized at the very last moment that we had no pictures of us together from the graduation festivities; so this. It always makes my Mama happy when she gets a picture of us together, so this is for you Oma! Sharing the responsibilities of such a big event was a lifesaver! Since our two oldest are the only ones in the same grade, I will be on my own for 4 more future graduation parties; makes me sweat just a little thinking about it.
