Our last destination on The 20-year anniversary trip was London, England. Ireland was so green, open and beautiful, we didn't know what to expect from the bustling London landscape. We were not disappointed. There was so much to see in only three days, we hurried like crazy people trying to cram in some highlights.
It was amazing to walk along the crowded streets of London, turn a corner and find yourself in a quiet little neighborhood (square) with benches, art, gorgeous gardens and placards with information about the history of the square.
When I knew London was in our future, I asked my Hubs if it was possible to visit London of Liberty-- the great fabric mecca of Europe. He not only accommodated my request with joy, but booked our hotel within walking distance. Love him!
The fabrics were very costly, so I only grabbed a small bundle to share with my sister, but my eyes feasted on the gorgeousness for quite a while.
We hit all of the major sights and thoroughly enjoyed our double-decker bus tour of the city-- would highly recommend that to any tourist. It gives you great highlights of the city, and you can pop on and off for a more detailed visit within a 24 hour period.
So blessed to have this trip as a memory of our marriage. We can sometimes fail to look at one another and really see the others needs, hurts, praises or concerns over the noise of everyday life. This was a wonderful break from the routine; looking at one another, remembering why we connected over 20 years ago and still pressing on as we grow, change and mature. Blessed indeed.
