In less than a month, my oldest daughter and nephew will be graduating from the same high school. Yikes! The preparations are slowly underway; my sister and I are collaborating and gathering ideas as we plan a combined open house for our 'firsts'.
Snapfish had a great coupon code recently that saved us a bundle on graduation open house announcements. The backside of the announcement has a picture of the cousins at age 3 loving each other, and another head shot of each graduate. These have been mailed out, so now the details for the open house are under way.
I made a quick 2014 banner for a table or door today with some items on hand.
A while ago, I bought these chalkboard coasters in the dollar bin at Target, not having a purpose in mind at the time. But, as I was contemplating making a chalkboard banner, I decided to use the cute die-cuts and string them up on some black + white bakers' twine; then I embellished with some fabric strips.
I really needed a simple project this week, just to feel like something was getting accomplished for the celebration. This fit the bill. And the good news: with 4 more graduates in the wings, the years can be changed with a quick swipe!
