20 Year Trip {Galway}

I have done two quick recaps of our Twenty-Year Anniversary trip to Limerick and Dublin, Ireland. Today, we take a peek into our last destination on the gorgeous green island- Galway.

Our last evening in Galway: we sat on the bay and watched the beautiful sunset.

Right before Christmas, I stumbled upon a Groupon for a 7 day train tour of Ireland, visiting three cities. I loved the price and location, and after prayer, looking at our budget and calendar, we booked a trip to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. The trip was a fabulous way to mark such a special occasion.

Galway Bay

Both of us being raised in California, we were drawn to the water. We loved walking the bay, watching the boats and colorful sunset. The salt air reminded us of our dating days in Southern California. Romantic + nostalgic.

We loved the sights of this small town. Such quaint streets + shops with street performers.

This town boasts an old, and historic bookshop: Charlie Brynes. My Sweet Hubs fell in love with the old books, Ireland tales and theology sections. We could have spent so much more time here, but alas, two days in this town limited our agenda. {We did get two trips in though}.

Our children back home made one request of us on our journey: send photos of our meals. So we did; and they loved or loathed our choices. For the most part we loved the food. I did not do well with the Irish Stew-- it tasted like boiled shoes:(

I think we need to plan another trip before we mark 20 more years. It was such a joy to have some uninterrupted time with my special guy!
