Home {my place + people}

This weekend was busy and full. Not unlike other weekends. However, I am sensing an unseen clock ticking in my head warning me that time is twirling by and I MUST make good use of these precious moments with my people. You see, I have a senior in high school. She is chin-high busy with scholarship applications, AP level courses, online college classes and all the other social and busy stuff that occupy an almost eighteen year-old. We have mere months with our oldest before she launches into her new, amazingly independent world as a college student in another state!!

My daughter is working on her AP art concentration. This is her most recent addition-- a friend.

So, I am finding myself attempting to be more intentional. I NEED to find more time to linger with each of my teens without the pressure to move-on and accomplish something. While my oldest was working on this painting, I made cups of tea for the two of us to chat about nothing-in-particular; just enjoying her sweet presence.

My middle daughter and I made some paper bag flowers for my bedroom and our classroom. She's my craft-oriented gal so that activity filled her cup {while helping me finish a project:}

Tea + danishes + a good friend= Mama's heart getting fed as well.

Since I am only homeschooling my eighth-grader, I have time that I never had before. I can call a girlfriend over for cups of tea + nibbles of danish and chat for a couple of hours. This is still new to me folks and I am learning how to best use these newly found hours. I am loving the slow mornings of hot drinks and quiet Bible time. Today's gem:

Abide in ME, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in ME.
— John 15:4

Abiding takes time. I NEED to abide in my King daily for so many reasons, mainly for my own growth and maturity, but also for the people that look to me for guidance + encouragement// my Teens, friends and sweet Hubs. Still struggling + learning, but trusting my True Vine.

Blessings,
