Tis the season for burlap. Fall just hollers crunchy browns-- jute, twine, burlap, hay. And today, I whipped out some long and forgotten burlap bags I got in a grab bag from Pick Your Plum a while ago. The box had lots of bits and baubles; I have slowly found projects to use up the box o' craftiness.
I cut the muslin in strips about 3 inches long and stamped words on the front with the larger letter stamps and brown ink. Then I used fusible bonding with an iron to attach the word strips to the muslin.
Having these Fall gift bags on hand are inspiring me to fill them with some treats and pass them on to friends. Our neighborhood does the, "You have been Booed" thing; that's where candy is dropped off on your doorstep with no notion of who left it there. One year someone knew me well enough to add a diet coke to the candy stash// a dear soul who knows my deep loves in life! I may use one or two bags for that. Also, I want to keep one on hand to Biddle someone.
I snipped some flowers from my garden and used one of the muslin bags to cover a jar filled with water; voila- a Fall vase. If burlap is your thing, check out my Burlap + Lace utensil holders; it's another fast and easy Fall decoration idea.
I am thinking of adding the Hoop Art to the burlap bag as a gift. Double the JOY!!
It's feelin' a little Fall-ish here!
