There are people hurting all around us. Sometimes we have eyes to see the pain or disappointments, and sometimes, our own difficulties or self-absorption keep us from a clear view of others' needs. This week, God opened my eyes to a couple of hurting or struggling friends. In most circumstances, a hug, a prayer or a willing ear are what is needed, but because I'm wired to give gifts, I made a couple of hoops to pass on to encourage some discouraged sisters.
I didn't really have a plan when I began these hoops; I just knew I wanted to use the unbleached muslin. Next, I drew the word on the muslin with a disappearing ink in my handwriting. Finally, I embellished with flowers, leaves, raindrops, and sun rays. Symbols of LIFE + HOPE.
I love the way God uses His people to encourage, uplift and spur on.
These would make a lovely gift for someone who just needs a little remembrance; a reminder that they are loved and known, understood and not alone. We all need that every once in a while, right?
Happy Stitching, friends!
