Vintage Thrifting {Holland, MI}

My Hubs and I recently went on a four day holiday alone  {!!!} to Holland, Michigan. It was a wonderful break from the hectic day-to-day schedules, routines and kid care. We lingered over amazing meals outside, laughed over shared moments and generally relaxed. Crazy, I know. Relaxing does not come naturally when we are home; there's always a meal to cook, kids to cart around, responsibilities. We took none of that with us. Our thrifting day was a favorite; we hit a bunch of amazing shops and found some beauts!

Those ziploc bags filled with sewing bits + baubles were fun- lots of small hoops. {Planning some fun projects with those over the next couple of weeks}. EVERY store we visited had paper vintage patterns- I got about 10 for .10 cents each. My goal is to make a vintage frock. The milk glass jars- .50 cents. Wow, right??

The trip was a success for many reasons: we realized we NEEDED time away to reconnect, laugh, and relax; we lounged on the beach with sand in our toes, sun in our eyes and rekindled reminders of our love that began many years ago in CA; fun and cheap thrifting for our home brought our present into focus. We're back in town now, refreshed and nourished.

Happy thrifting, friends!
