Trash to Treasure...

I'm a BIG lover of Goodwill, thrift shops, flea markets, and garage sales. Like, I reall-ly love them. It's so fun to pop in, browse the rows and spy the perfect little something that may not have even been on my radar: a vintage pillowcase, jeans for my growing son, a shabby piece that just needs a little love to make it whole again. And last week I found something from that latter category>> a broken, chipped and water-damaged picture frame<<  Trash to Treasure time!

I LOVE the shape of the frame; kept it and the glass and dumped the rest.

I LOVE the shape of the frame; kept it and the glass and dumped the rest.

We spray painted the frame white and used chalkboard paint over the glass.  Total transformation!!

I'm in love!

I'm in love!

My Hubs wrote out "Choose Joy" in chalk. It's going to be our family's motto for the summer. We want to be more intentional about speaking truth and love to our children, and we want them to do the same with one another. Long summer days can sometimes lend themselves to bickering and grumblings; having this on our living room wall will be a beautiful reminder that Joy is a CHOICE. {I need this moment, by moment as well!} EVERY home struggles with pain, disappointment and grief. But those circumstances don't have to dictate how we live. Even in the midst of difficulties, His sweet and tender mercies are new every morning, and in this we can REJOICE!

Love this baby blue paint.

Love this baby blue paint.

Since the paint was out already, and the garage prepped, we painted this Goodwill {new} $2 frame a sweet baby blue and added chalkboard paint on the glass as well. This is a 5X7 frame; just the right size for the kitchen counter to announce our daily plans or menu. Love.

Simple transformations are so fun!
Have a great weekend....
