oh, baby!

It's been quite a while since I've had the privilege of holding and caring for a small one; my last baby was born in 2000! And during those crazy, hectic, sleep-deprived, glorious days, I was too busy {& tired} to pull out my handy Singer and sew some fun lovelies for my chickies. Sad, but true! Three littles under 4 can keep one kinda occupied. BUT... a dear old friend from Arizona is having her first little girlie and I couldn't wait to sew up a few burp cloths to add to a fun Mail Biddle

Chenille and coordinating purple cotton fabric were used to make these burp cloths.

So sweet and feminine.

I cut the chenille and cotton fabrics into rectangles. Sew around the perimeter of the fabrics, right-sides facing leaving a 3 inch opening at the bottom for turning out. Once the fabric is turned out, iron and topstitch around entire cloth. DONE! A simple, sweet baby gift for a little one. I just wish I could squeeze some of that baby-love!

In addition to the burp cloths I also added some adorable baby clothes from Target; it's been years since I shopped the baby section, so it was no surprise that I spent a LONG time admiring the fashions of the tiny-folk. Hair ribbons, because every Mama tries no matter how much hair is present. And prayers, because the first baby is always an adjustment.

And with this package my kids fulfilled one of their Summer 2013 Bucket List projects: Surprise Someone with Biddle on their Doorstep, #47.  {The kids helped pick the outfits and wrap it all up}.

Have a wonderful week, friends
