Just In Time For Mother's Day

Last week I was searching Craigslist for some vintage fabric or sheets and came across an ad for over 50 yards of fabric for $40!! I swooped in, made the call and 24 hours later was shoulder deep in piles of delicious laundry. I'm not usually one to drool over loads of washing and folding, but I couldn't wait to get my hands on that yumminess.

Last week's deal is this week's last-minute Mother's Day gift // Vintage Fabric Envelopes with Notecards//

On Kraft paper cards, I adhered fabric tape and hand stamped a word. The cards measured 4 X 5 inches, so I cut the fabric pieces 6 1/2 X 12; sewed around the edges of fabric {right sides facing} leaving a 3 inch opening at bottom; clipped edges, turned out and ironed flat. Fold up edge 3 1/2 inches, top-stitch and DONE! Add handmade cards and envelopes, tie with some twine and a gift is ready! I'm making a few extras to have in the gift closet // teacher's gifts, graduation gifts, birthdays, Biddle //.

Love that this vintage-sweetness is a gift, but it also allows the recipient to give back in the form of words with the notecards. Happy Mother's Day ladies!

A great gift for any occasion {make a few and keep for those unexpected gifting moments}.
