Weekend Kitchen Revamp

This Memorial Day weekend was spent whitening up our kitchen. After twelve years with a barn red kitchen, I decided it was time for a change. I loved the red; it was bold and made the kitchen stand out. It was just time for a little 'different". But with a tiny kitchen + a small budget, paint and thrifted linens were my way to new. I decided to go for a shabby, cottage-feel; simple white walls and vintage sheets for curtains.

I love how bright and airy my little dining room looks.

I used a double-size vintage sheet to make the curtain panels.

My Hubs spray painted the light fixture the same yellow as my lovely tea cart. Every little change makes me happy. Such small things can alter the entire mood of a room. I can hardly wait for my morning cup of hot tea tomorrow.

New color combined with objects found around the house make for a budget-friendly kitchen revamp.

The whole family came together for this project; we painted, cleaned and organized for hours, but don't fret, Friday night we had a small cookout complete with 'smores and a friend for each teen. Some of the kiddos even got to enjoy the opening of the neighborhood pool. Fun + Family +Food makes for a wonderfully productive weekend!

Blessings,
