Fast & Simple Summer Pillow Remake

Sometimes a simple change can make a dramatic difference. This Fall we moved a couch from one room to another, changed out the pillow cases {handmade from thrifted material}  and moved some table scape items around for a whole new feel; simple and satisfying.

I loved those pillow cases in the Fall, but now that Spring is in full bloom and Summer is on the horizon, I am again ready for a change. So, yesterday I Summer-ized those beauties with a little Heat and Bond and fabric.

I added hearts and the number 5 {crazy # of kids I am blessed with}.

The pillows are made out of canvas and ric-rac with envelope enclosures. They were simple and perfect for the Fall. Yesterday, I added the hearts and number 5 on the canvas to give them a Summer look. First, I took out the pillow. Then I ironed Heat and Bond onto the fabric {explained in Foxy Frame Tutorial}, stitched around shape and reinserted pillow. Simple, fast and Summer-y!

Summertime, I am ready!

Summertime, I am ready!

I love summer: time for the outdoors, ice cold drinks clinking in glass with lots of ice, pool-side chats with neighbors and more time with the teens.
