Cart Transformation {thrifty finds}

This weekend was perfect for some garage sales! Most of the family was scattered around town for various reasons, so I grabbed my wallet and keys and convinced my oldest daughter to join me. After a few homes, we came across a sad little cart that would be perfect for beverages during outdoor gatherings; I picked her up for a few bucks and transformed her.

The cart is being used as a sofa table; I had to use her right away!

She was dirty, so first I cleaned her up a bit. Then I headed to Lowes and picked up this great spray paint + primer that is intended for metal, plastic or wood {it sprayed on perfectly with no dripping; will definitely use that brand again}.  I taped the handles and bars of the cart with masking tape, took the cart to the driveway and sprayed away.

I loved how this Valspar spray paint covered the tray in even and non-splotchy strokes.

The cart dried amazingly fast! After a couple of hours, I was able to bring it into the house for an after church gathering and there were no lingering spray-paint fumes. I am SO happy with how this turned out.

A little sad and dirty before the make-over.

I love finding ways to add charm to my home by transforming the old and tired, into something useful.
