Fast Hostess + Neighbor Gift

After a recent trip to Ikea, I stocked up on the $.79 dish towels// Oh, yes I did! And now I am adding a bit of frill to make them a hostess gift that can be thrown together in moments.

These dish towels have that simple, farmhouse look to them. Useful and cute on their own, but after a little ruffle was added, it's a bit more sweet, don't you think??

Supplies: dish towels + strips of fabric.

I used my sewing machine to run a basting stitch {on the highest tension} through the length of the fabric strips. Then, I pulled the bobbin thread until I had a ruffle that made me smile.

Once the ruffles were made, I pinned them to my dish towels.

Then, I sewed down the middle of the ruffle to attach it to the dish towel. Once you start, you will want to make a little pile of towels to give away this Christmas season.

I added these dish towels to my Men's Shirt apron with some cooking utensils, recipe cards and chocolate for some of the kid's teachers.

Pair the dish towels with a Handmade Ornament and some candy, and a thoughtful gift is ready to share with your neighbors or hostess. Fast + simple.
