I am indeed indebted to the amazing technological advances in communication since my college days, twenty-five years ago. Back then, the only way to connect with my family or friends  was through a very public pay phone in the hall of our dorm {not conductive to tear-fests or break-ups with beaus}, letter writing or popping in your car for a drive home. Letter writing was my favorite; going to your mailbox and seeing ANYTHING was a cause for a little jig.

We have a few family members that find dairy difficult to digest; a bummer for the summer months with ice cream being consumed in large quantities by most people in town. BUT, I have found frozen bananas make a wonderful substitute to the taste and texture of ice cream without the dairy and icky side effects that plague some of my loved ones.

Friday night bonfire with friends {come summer, come}

I truly find so much JOY in my  home: in the cleaning, in the decorating, organizing and planning of meals + hosting friends for evenings of chats + nibbles. A warm contentment flows  when laughter, stories and food are shared with new friends, and old. This past Friday we invited a group of family + friends over for a hot dog roast and bonfire with smores {of course:}.

May Happenings

This May has been a blur of activity and emotion. One son is running track, many are in the midst of final examinations and AP reviews + testing AND we have a daughter graduating tomorrow!! Pretty big + exciting life events for sure, but calendar filling all the same. Having a graduate means lots of grad parties as well.
